AUGUST 31, 2012—Frisco, Texas— Legacy Plumbing Inc. teamed up with Frisco Family Services Center, a local non-profit organization that serves area families in need, to help give Frisco children a successful start this school year.
Back-to-school can be a stressful time for students and parents. For local families who struggle financially the cost of sending a child back to school can be more than they can bare. In partnership with Frisco Family Services Center, Legacy Plumbing Inc. sponsored two local children. Their sponsorship provided the clothes, shoes and supplies needed to prepare the children for a new school year.
Michelle Young, co owner of Legacy Plumbing also volunteered at the school supply distribution on August 13th. She is excited about partnering with Frisco Family Services Center’s Back-to-school program for the second year to help ease the financial burden for families in need.
“Working with Frisco Family Services Center has been a wonderful experience,” Young said. “I am thrilled that we were able to lend a helping hand and serve the families in our community.”
Frisco Family Services Center assists over 400 Frisco Independent School District students every year. Through their back-to-school program, they are able to equip children with everything they need to have a successful school year. Donors contributed backpacks, supplies, clothes, shoes, personal hygiene items, cash and gift cards during the drive. The items were distributed to local families in need on August 13, 2012.
Approximately 500 children benefited from the 2012 program.
“It was heartwarming to meet with the families at the supply distribution,” Young said smiling. “It’s easy to see what a blessing Frisco Family Services Center is to our community.”
