Due north of Dallas lies Aubrey, TX, a small community that is booming to the brim. In the past decade, the area has doubled in size from 2,500 residents to more than 5,000.

Legacy Plumbing proudly provides plumbing service to this historic 3-square-mile town, which was founded in the late 1800s and was known for its peanut farms and horse ranches.

Around 2009, those old peanut grounds gave way to a housing boom.

The town has received accolades, including listings in the area’s 10 Healthiest Neighborhoods and a nod from the governor for its beautification program.

The area, which is close to Lake Ray Roberts, Lake Lewisville and the Greenbelt, has attracted a diverse array of families. In fact, Aubrey holds a diversity score of 93 out of 100, meaning it’s much more diverse than other U.S. cities.

PLUMBING PROBLEMS IN AUBREY

Homes in Aubrey cost more than homes in Dallas, on average $337,000. Nearly 66 percent of residents own their homes, which tend to be midsize to larger with 3-4 bedrooms.

More than half of the town’s homes were built after 2000. Of these, 22 percent have been built since 2015. While you might think newer homes will have zero plumbing problems, this isn’t necessarily true.

After moving into your home, call Legacy plumbing to inspect the water heater and sewer line and flag any potential issues before they happen. A lot of times these kinds of repairs aren’t covered under home warranty, so it’s better to fix them before they get out of hand.teacher-coupon

Common issues we see on new home builds include clogged pipes, drain blockage, faulty water heaters, leaky faucets and running toilets. It often comes down to improper installation or random construction debris from the builders.

Leaky faucets and running toilets can happen no matter the age of the home. We urge our clients to be diligent to fix these issues before they turn into a plumbing emergency.

Aubrey residents — and every Texas resident for that matter — should also be on the lookout for slab leaks, which happen often because of the nature of Texas’ clay soil, which often puts pressure on underground pipes after periods of rain.

Call Legacy right away, and we will send our experts to detect and repair slab leaks before they cause a huge amount of trouble. Signs of a slab leak include cracks on the floors, low water pressure, high water bills, and hot spots on the floor.

AUBREY GAS SERVICE

As with most communities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Atmos provides the town’s natural gas. The utility takes care of the supply pipe up to your gas meter. Any line that runs from the meter to your home is your responsibility.

If you smell gas in or around your home, leave immediately, call 911 and then your provider:

Just moving into a new home and looking into gas appliances? You could qualify for a rebate on a new system!

You may think you’re in the clear with your water heater since it’s technically new — but if your morning shower isn’t getting hot, give Legacy a call. Poor installation, a faulty internal thermostat, a leaky pipe — any of these could be the culprit. We can diagnose the issue and fix it right away.

Legacy Plumbing offers $100 off water heater installations for first-time customers, and Atmos offers rebates on gas appliances such as furnaces, water heaters and dryers.

AUBREY WATER SERVICE

The town maintains the city water up to the water meter and sewer lines up to the property line and charges on a sliding scale depending on water usage, so it’s a good idea to pay attention to your pipes. Look for dripping faucets; listen for running toilets. Leaks can add up on a tiered billing system.

The city asks that you report any water emergencies, such as major water leaks or sewer back-ups, by calling 940-220-1018.

A major cause of plumbing issues is clogged drains, which can happen for a variety of reasons, including tree roots that have penetrated the sewer line. Our Legacy plumbers have cameras that can help determine the problem before starting any work.

I just can't say enough good things about Jeremy and Andre from Legacy Plumbing (Little Elm). They came out for a couple of different plumbing issues and went above and beyond in taking care of things. They were timely, courteous and efficient. Then after they were finished, and left - they came back. Why? To clean up my yard of leaves and debris from the storm. Whaaaaat? Who does that? These guys!! Really just unbelievable. I was stunned. Talk about above and beyond customer service. Legacy Plumbing is awesome. I'm a customer for life.

It's fair to say that I hate plumbers. I’m a failed plumber from a family of successful plumbers so that's where that probably comes from. In any case, trying a new plumber is usually just an extension of bad to horrible experiences. Until today. Always skeptical, I watched closely while Johnny from Legacy Plumbers did the best pre-inspection I’ve ever seen. Gloves on hands, booties on feet, he moved rugs out of the way, he cleaned double sink drains, inspected shower and bathtub drains, and declared them clear. He cleaned the work areas, replaced the rugs, then because I was so impressed, he proceeded to replace our guest bathroom tank mechanism. Suffice it say, I have found our plumber! Professional, exceptional technical skill, customer service beyond reproach. Hey, did I say he really impressed me? By the way, prices very acceptable! Thanks, Johnny. Keep up the really great work Legacy Plumbing!
