Back in March 2022, we were excited to partner with the Texas Legends for a “Legacy of Kindness” project at a local senior care center.
As of September 2022, we just finished our second “Legacy of Kindness” project for the year! This time, we visited a local animal shelter to volunteer on a few site improvements and visit with some of the animals present.
The Colony Animal Shelter was in the middle of working on some site improvements and beautification projects. One of the items on the list was refreshing the landscaping around the perimeter of the grounds.
Both representatives from Legacy Plumbing and the Texas Legends jumped in and made short work of the planting and flower bed renovation.
Afterwards, we got the opportunity to visit with some of the precious pets currently staying in the facility. Many of these animals have been abused, neglected, injured, or abandoned before being rescued by The Colony Animal Services. Due to the support of many and the hard work of the staff, this animal shelter boasts an incredible 97% adoption rate!
We were blessed to be able to give some love and attention to these creatures who have been left with far too little.
Over 1,200 animals come through the doors of The Colony Animal Shelter every single year. If you would like to support them in their mission to “protect and nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets”, they welcome both donations and volunteers.
