Brooke S. of Fairview, TX asked: How do I avoid frozen pipes?

There are some simple ways to prevent your pipes from freezing in extreme weather. First, if your pipes are exposed in an unheated area, you should take measure to warm them up. You can either wrap them in foam, insulating material, or an electrical wire-heating wrap. Legacy Plumbing ServicesThis will keep the pipes warm in even freezing weather, preventing them from freezing. This technique won’t be possible if your pipes aren’t exposed. If that’s the case, leave a trickle of water running. This will warm the pipes slowly and hinder the freezing process.
