The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) was founded in 1905 and is the oldest animal welfare organization in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. While the organization’s name has evolved from the Fort Worth Humane Society in 1905 to the Tarrant County Humane Society in 1910 to the Humane Society of North Texas in 1982, its focus has always been on caring for animals in need. HSNT provides pet adoptions, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, returning lost pets to their owners, cruelty investigations, and humane euthanasia. HSNT operates five pet adoption centers in Tarrant and Kaufman County, four PetSmart Cat Adoption Centers, and an equine and livestock ranch in Johnson County. HSNT’s mission is to save, shelter, protect, and advocate for all animals in need to end animal cruelty & pet homelessness in North Texas. Their vision is to build a community where pets and people save each other by finding homeless pets in their forever homes and providing the community with much-needed services to keep people and their pets together.
