Frisco, TX, May 3, 2013 – Frisco, Texas-based Legacy Plumbing, Inc. along with many other volunteers, and community supporters extended their services to lend a hand in bringing Hope Park to Frisco, Texas.
When the founders of Hope Park called out for volunteers and community supporters to help in their Hope Park Build Week, the Legacy Plumbing team of Theron, Wayne, Chris, Matt, Lee, Laura and Doug were front and center and ready to meet the challenge. The Legacy Plumbing team are no strangers to community service and was excited about the opportunity to do their part.
“One of my favorite quotes is from author Max Lucado, “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something,” so volunteering in the community is a just small way that we can all give back, and the team at Legacy Plumbing is no exception,” said Theron Young, co-owner and president of Legacy Plumbing, Inc.
The plumbing company has been a great community partner and supporter of Hope Park, even early on. The Legacy Plumbing team have worked over the past year contributing to sponsorship and fundraising efforts of the park. The company helped fundraise by sponsoring and participating in a golf tournament in 2012 and more recently with the Ducky Palooza fundraiser. Legacy Plumbing has also purchased a bench at the park, several commemorative bricks and fence pickets, all an effort to bring the park to life.
“It was an honor to be a part of such an amazing and heartfelt project. Hope Park took a giant step in the right direction giving children with disabilities a safe place for all children to play and interact with each other,” said Michelle Young, co-owner of Legacy Plumbing.
According to the website, Hope Park’s mission is to bring the community together to give hope to children of all abilities, to provide a place where they can play side by side in a peaceful atmosphere built for them by a community that values the foundation of the family.
The local plumbing company, along with the community of Frisco were glad to assist with such a rewarding project. The cost of the park will be approximately $595,000 with the possibility of an endowment for continued maintenance. A large portion of the cost is the rubber flooring that not only cushions falls but allows wheelchairs to easily move through the park.
