WATTS Instant Hot Recirculating System
The Watts Instant Hot Water Recirculating System brings convenience and savings to your home, giving you hot water instantly at every faucet or shower when you need it. This unique product connects easily to existing plumbing. It saves up to 15,000 gallons of water per year and up to 10% of your water bill. This can also help prevent frozen pipes in the winter, depending on installation locations.
FloodStop
A FloodStop is a leak detection system that is designed for residences. Installing a FloodStop on your water supply can help protect your home from flooding. When a leak is detected, FloodStop saves the day by sounding and alarm and automatically stopping the water supply to your water heater. All your other household appliances will continue to function normally. Every FloodStop kit comes with one motorized ball valve with ¾” NPT threaded fittings, a control unit, a leak sensor and an AC power adapter.
Water And Gas Safety Valves (WAGS Valves)
The Water And Gas Safety Valve, known as the WAGS valve, is created to cut off the water supply (as well as a they gas supply in gas-fired heaters) in case of a water heater leak. The main objective of a WAGS valve is to reduce water damage and a possible gas leakage. A WAGS valve will work on all models of water heaters without an external power supply.
The WAGS sits in a drip pan under the unit and is activated when the water level exceeds ¾”. After the water and gas supply are shut off a red tag pops up to indicate its activation.
All water heaters will fail and leak eventually. Leaving your unit without a WAGS valve puts your home at risk. Legacy Water Heaters can install both a WAGS valve and drip pan to help protect your home from a property-damaging hot water heater flood.
Water Heater Drain Pan
Water heater pans are a necessity in preventing damage to your home. Because your tank will hold a lot more water than your drain pan, it is vital to get a pan with an outlet tap. A drain pan and pipe will work together to protect your home and belongings.
Water heater drain pans are also an essential part of the WAGS valve system that will shut off your water source in the event of a leak.
Thermal Expansion Tank
A thermal expansion tank is mandatory in any city that requires a check valve (like Carrollton and Addison) or has a closed water system. These tanks are plumbed into your unit and created to hold the excess water that may be produced during the water heating process. Some cities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area require that your water heater have a thermal expansion tank. A thermal expansion tank is equipped with a sealed-in air cushion that compresses during thermal expansion to make room for the excess water that is produced.
If a Flood Stop or the WAGS valve isn’t in the budget, we recommend at a minimum that every homeowner install a basic Water Alarm. These can be purchased at your local hardware store and offers protection by sending a basic alarm sound when water is present in the water heater pan.
