You know that the appliances in your home are not cheap. That’s why a plumbing emergency is such a dreaded occurrence – you have to worry about the inconvenience and the unexpected expense. You can avoid putting undue pressure on your appliances by making sure that you have the right water pressure in your home. When the water pressure is too high, the life expectancy of your appliances will diminish.
The leading cause of leaks and pipe damage is high water pressure. Not only will your appliance eventually break, but it’s expensive to maintain a home where the water pressure is too high. So, how do you make sure that you have the right pressure in your home?
It’s a simple fix!
Buy an inexpensive gauge which screws into the hose bib. If you find that the water pressure is too high, you can buy a pressure regulator that will ensure that the pressure coming from the supply line is protected. The valve will also automatically switch off the supply of water once it reaches a certain pressure.
Protect your investment by checking your water pressure periodically.
